A few years back, in 2010, during an award show, when Shah Rukh Khan asked Virendra Sehwag to share an interesting sledging incident, the cricketer opened up about the time when Shoaib Akhtar had provoked him to hit boundary when he was close to the 200 run mark. Sehwag said, “ Woh tera baap khada hai wo non-striking end pe, uss ko bol woh mar ke dikhayega. Non-striker end pe Tendulkar tha. Next over mai jab usne Tendulkar ko bouncer mara toh usne chakka mara, maine kaha beta beta hota hai aur baap baap hota hai.”

Reacting to Virendra Sehwag’s sledging incident, Shoaib Akhtar denied it recently. During an interview with a Pakistani journalist, Akhtar claimed that the incident never took place. When asked about the ‘Baap baap hota hai’ story narrated by Sehwag, Shoaib Akhtar said, “Would he survive after saying something like that to me? Would I leave him? I would beat him up at the ground and then at the hotel.” He asked the reporter if Sehwag would have survived if he said something like that to him and mentioned that he would have beaten him up at the ground and then at the hotel.

Meanwhile, Shoaib Akhtar also re-tweeted a tweet and wrote, “Yes, totally self made story by him. Mujhe yeh bol k bach k jana kidhar tha us nay.” On his official Twitter handle, Akhtar called Virendra Sehwag’s sledging story as totally self-made.
